Ekadashi October Significance

The Hindu calendar places Rama Ekadashi in the month of Kartik, whereas the Tamil calendar places it in the month of “Purattasi.” Apart from Andhra Pradesh, it also happens in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the Ashwayuj or Ashwin months. Rambha Ekadashi and Kartik Krishna Ekadashi are other names for this Ekadashi.

Hindu worshippers can atone for their sins today by observing a holy fast. Hindu scripture holds that individuals who celebrate this auspicious Rama Ekadashi Vrat purge themselves of their past and present karmas, and that by doing so, even those who are suffering from the sin of Brahma Hatya (killing a brahmin), can find redemption.
